Job description
Snelling is seeking a Drywall Estimator/Project Manager to join our client team. The client services include cold formed & light gauge metal framing, drywall & finishing, rough carpentry, insulation and ACT.
Position Summary:
Seeking experienced candidates to lead in Estimating and Project Management efforts, from project conception to project close out.
Primary Responsibilities include: Cost estimating, bidding, preparation of detailed written proposals, scope review, contract negotiation, buyout/final pricing, project set up, pre-construction, project submittals, managing multiple projects concurrently, administering pay applications & change orders, attending project meetings and maintaining pertinent project documentation.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Analyze plan documents and other data to prepare accurate, detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
- Comprehensive of industry unit pricing in order to create effective and precise budgets.
- Communicate with multiple vendors to prepare material costs and up-to-date pricing information for bids.
- Attend project site pre-bid meetings, site tours, and post-bid interviews as required.
- Coordinate project scheduling to maintain project timelines and commitments.
- Competent in offering value engineering recommendations to clients and management.
- Follow up on proposals and provide updates and feedback to management.
- Develop and maintain accurate unit cost databases.
- Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients.
- Specify and communicate accurate scopes of work to subcontractors to ensure the successful completion of work.
- Capable of validating subcontractor proposals and vendor quotes quickly and accurately.
- Skillful in understanding contract specifications.
Skills / Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Drywall Estimating & Project Management
- Must be experienced with Onscreen Takeoff & Quick-Bid Software
- Working knowledge of Procore Construction Management and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting Architectural & Structural drawings.
- Complete knowledge and experience with metal framing, drywall, finishing and carpentry.
- Detail oriented, logical, and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organization, time management and prioritization skills.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree
